Making fleet management convinient & easier
Designed for desktop / SaaS platform
Research
Problem
Difficulty in managing all the data of storage, insurance, gas prices, registration ,title, and maintenance, driver's safety, and route planning.
Solution
The fleet management system will allow the company to view data on all these expenses within one app.

Overview
The project aims to develop a fleet management system that presents an overview of the activities and processes required to ensure the smooth operation of a fleet of multiple vehicles

Market research
I focused on gathering information and insights from three companies that provide user-friendly fleet management system services.

Define
User persona
During my research, I created a fictional user persona based on independent research about fleet managers' daily work lifestyle, their pain points, and goals.

* Name: Mark Thompson
* Age: 50
* Experience: 20 years in logistics and long - hual fleet management
Bio
Mark has been managing a fleet of 150 trucks for over 10 years in his current role. Mark relies on digital tools to track vehicle performance, driver availability, and maintenance schedules, but he finds many of them to be outdated or overly complex.
Pain Points
1. Lack of Real-Time Data: Needs a system that provides real-time vehicle diagnostics and route updates.
2. Complex Reports: Finds many fleet management systems difficult to navigate.
Main goals
1. Cost Efficiency: Reduce fuel and maintenance costs
2. Driver Satisfaction: Provide tools that make drivers' jobs easier, reducing turnover and increasing productivity.
3. Improve vehicle utilization and reduce downtime
"I am not a big fan of complex systems. I want an intuitive and easy - to navigate platform to reach my goals"

Main features
Based on the research and define proccesses, I gathered 4 main features the system will provide.

Styleguide
My main goal while choosing colors and typography was to make the system visually appealing, easy to navigate, and effective in presenting important information.

Welcome to the dark side
The dark mode was created for users who want to
reduce eye strain. Additionally, some users find it more aesthetically pleasing and easier to read.

Creating a work schedule
I decided to focuse on one of the fleet manager's responsibilities: to create a work schedule for the drivers. The manager receives a list of the deliveries for the coming week and assigns the appropriate driver for the task.

Step 1
The manager receives the delivery details. The system generates the optimal route according to the driver's district and working hours.

Step 2
After selecting the desired driver for the task, the system automatically adds the new destination to the driver's route and sends a notification to the driver.
Conclusion
This project was developed during my internship, where I collaborated with senior designers to create the platform and received consistent professional feedback.
Throughout the platform's creation, I presented my ideas to the company's manager, and we brainstormed together to establish the most effective user flow.
I gained valuable insights into the structure of SaaS platforms, identified essential features for their success, and learned how to design a seamless and intuitive user experience.
